Before Requesting a Trolley Bar Quote: What Information Should You Prepare?
If your factory is using an old trolley bar system and replacement parts are becoming difficult to source, you may not even know the exact manufacturer or model number anymore.
This is especially common with imported crane and hoist systems. The original product may have been installed many years ago, the manufacturer may have discontinued the model, or replacement parts may now involve long overseas lead times.
In such cases, you do not necessarily need to identify the exact product before contacting us.

If the existing product was manufactured by another company, we can review its dimensions, drawings, current rating and installation structure to determine whether it can be replaced with a similar VOLTRA product or whether a custom replacement should be manufactured.
What Should You Send for a Trolley Bar Quotation?
The more information you provide, the more accurately we can review your requirements. However, you do not need to prepare everything at the beginning.

Photos of the Existing Trolley Bar
Please take several photographs showing the overall trolley bar installation.
Useful photos include:
The full trolley bar line
A close-up of the conductor rail
The cross-sectional shape of the bar
Connection joints
Insulating covers
Hangers and mounting brackets
End sections and power feed sections
A wider photo of the crane or hoist installation is also helpful because it allows us to understand how the conductor rail is currently installed.
Photos of the Current Collector
Please also send photographs of the current collector, collector shoe or pantograph operating with the trolley bar.
The current collector is one of the most important components of a moving power supply system. Even if the conductor rail can be replaced, the collector must also be compatible with the new rail.

The contact area between the collector and conductor rail
Mounting brackets
Cable connections
Any visible model numbers or labels
If the collector itself is worn, discontinued or unavailable, YAKIN Co., Ltd. can also review the possibility of manufacturing a replacement.
Current Rating and Total Installation Length
If available, please tell us the current rating of your existing trolley bar system.
For example:

You should also provide the approximate total length to be replaced.
For example:
160A insulated trolley bar – approximately 50 meters
or
500A H-shape conductor rail – approximately 200 meters
These details help us determine the appropriate conductor rail, collector and related accessories.
Dimensions Are Especially Important for Replacement Products
When replacing a trolley bar or current collector made by another manufacturer, actual dimensions become very important.
If possible, please measure:
Overall width and height
Conductor dimensions
Cross-sectional dimensions
Mounting-hole spacing
Bracket dimensions
Collector mounting dimensions
Distance between important connection points
You can simply place a ruler or caliper beside the product and take photographs showing the measurements.
This can be particularly useful when dealing with old imported equipment for which original documentation is no longer available.
Technical Drawings Make the Review Easier
If you have technical drawings, please send them with your inquiry.
Drawings may contain information such as:
Dimensions
Material specifications
Current capacity
Mounting positions
Connection details
Existing system configuration
For discontinued foreign products, even an old drawing can provide valuable information for determining whether a compatible replacement can be produced.
If no drawing is available, photographs, measurements and an actual sample can still be used for technical review.
Can We Replace a Trolley Bar Made by Another Company?
In many cases, yes—subject to technical review.

For overseas factories, sourcing an old current collector can become more difficult than replacing the conductor rail itself.
A system may still operate normally, but once the collector shoe or collector assembly becomes worn, the original replacement component may no longer be available.
